AUCKLAND YOUTH DANCE FESTIVAL

Welcome! YouDance is an annual event for secondary aged students to celebrate the work they are creating and performing in Dance.

With two fantastic nights of fresh and inspiring work, YouDance showcases the tremendous depth of talent in secondary schools and youth dance companies. Let our young choreographers and dancers show you what they’re capable of!

2018 DATES

27th – 31st of May

At YouDance young adults studying dance at school and community youth companies come together in a non-competitive, collegial environment to share dance work with each other and the wider community.

The 14 works of the first night programme make it easy to see that youth dance in the region has jumped up several notches technically and creatively in the past year, with choreography showing increased structural complexity and a willingness to try new things, movement derived from a huge variety of sources, and performances in general displaying more polished technical execution.
